Signing for Unravel Snowflake Standard (Free) account
When you sign up for Unravel Standard (Free) account, you are provided with free observability into the data performance of warehouses that are integrated with Unravel for monitoring. However, for optimization insights and governance, you must upgrade to the Unravel Pro version.
Notice
For the Unravel Standard (Free) account version, the data is monitored for a period of seven days.
Run the following steps to sign up for Unravel Standard (Free) account.
Sign up for Unravel (Snowflake Standard (Free) account). From the Unravel website, select Snowflake; in the Create a Free Account box, specify your email ID, and click Create Account.
You get an email for verification.
After your email is verified, you will receive another email with login credentials. Keep these handy to access your Unravel Standard (Free) account UI.
From the Unravel UI, you can configure your Snowflake account with a Realtime connection to upload Snowflake metadata.
Using the real-time connection, you can directly connect to your Snowflake database and, after configuring your Snowflake account details, get live data insights. The real-time connection allows you to access all Unravel features at once, perform real-time monitoring, receive notification alerts, and observe live insights without any requirement for account admin access.
Ensure to complete these prerequisites before you get live data for Real-time connection.
The following steps are involved in getting Snowflake data for Unravel monitoring:
Access the Unravel UI using the login credentials you received in the email when you signed up for Unravel Snowflake Standard (Free) account. The data fields are empty when you access Unravel UI for the first time.
Click
on the upper right side and select Snowflake configuration. Select the Real-time option.
Enter the following details:

User
Enter the username to access the Snowflake account.
Password
Enter the passcode to access the Snowflake account.
Account
Specify the Snowflake user account from where you want to get live data for monitoring.
Role
Specify a role associated with the user account for Unravel to access the correct Snowflake data and warehouses.
Parameters
Database name
Specify Snowflake as the database name from where Unravel can access the metadata.
Schema name
Specify Account_Usage as the Snowflake schema in your database.
Warehouse name
Specify a warehouse for Unravel to run queries on your metadata (monitor and telemetry data). The minimum warehouse size required by Unravel is X-small.
Look back
Set how many days of metadata should be processed from when this configuration is saved.

For Snowflake Standard (Free) account, this is pre-set to 7 days.
The Lookback feature comes with Unravel Pro. When you upgrade to Unravel Pro, you can set the look-back period to a maximum of 180 days. Click

Credit cost
Set the USD cost of your Snowflake credits.
Click Save to save the settings.
