Unravel supports both ad hoc apps, and repeatedly running pipelines (workflows).

  • Ad hoc applications are Hive queries, MapReduce jobs, Spark applications, Impala queries, and so on; these are generated by end-user tools (such as BI tools like Tableau, Microstrategy, etc.) or submitted via the command-line.

  • Repeatedly running pipelines are created using cron or schedulers like Oozie, Airflow, or ETL tools like Informatica, Pentaho, and others.
